About the Dalcroze workshop
Dalcroze Workshop “Moving into Composition”
- Tuesday 4th August 2020 – 7pm – Zoom (As part of The Online Piano Summer Academy)
Emile Jaques Dalcroze (1865-1950) was a Swiss composer , pianist and accompanist most famously known for developing his kinaesthetic music education known as Dalcroze Eurhythmics.
In this workshop we shall explore the relationship between musical gestures and movement. Participants will create their own graphic scores from movement to transcription through to playing. This will be a starting point for improvisation and composition, considering interpretation of repertoire through the lens of movement and gesture.
